One participant is presented with four identical envelopes. Inside each is a card with either “Dressed”, “Topless”, “Bottomless” or “Naked” printed on it. In Experiment #2, one person was given this choice to decide how they would be dressed for going home at the end of the session. Obviously, there is a thrill from the element of risk but, more importantly, the participant knows that whatever the outcome, it was their choice that caused it.
