as I have said before, if numbers are low I will go again, although what’s the prize if I win two on the bounce? ? I’m not up for submitting four entries though…

Those of you who announced in the forum that you would take part in Vote-Off #6 but then weren’t able to, are you interested in trying Vote-Off #7 instead? There are at least three of you, and probably more.
If you don’t want to, could you please let me know?

I’d like to make it automatic and I’ll definitely do that for Vote-Off #7 (see the notes on that page), but I didn’t put that in the Ts&Cs for Vote-Off #6. It was a later addition.

We’ve got 4 participants again so we can kick this off.
I would very much like to minimise the number of PayPal transactions. Obviously it would be great to get a lot more votes bought than for Vote-Off #6, but any ideas for how to compact purchases into 1 or 2 larger purchases rather than 3-5 small purchases?

If anyone else is tempted to take part in Vote-Off #7, you need to get your submissions in now!
We’ve just reached the required 4 participant minimum so I’ll be launching the event very soon. It’s a busy week for me, so I don’t have much spare time, but I’m aiming to start the event this weekend (20th/21st May).

Okay, everyone! You can buy your votes now.
I’d like to encourage you all to buy votes in as few transactions as possible (eg one £15 batch instead of 3x £5). I really don’t want to lose my account and I presume that fewer transactions will reduce the risk for me. As far as I can tell, nothing is in breach of Pay Pal’s rules but I don’t want to rely on that.
I’ll be building the event pages tonight and tomorrow and should be able to kick the event off tomorrow at 9pm.
If anyone else wants to participate, I need the video TONIGHT (20th May).

Sorry about this but I’m going to move the end of this one back 24 hours. I wasn’t expecting to be so busy today and I’m not going to be around much this evening. We’ll end this at 9pm on Sunday instead. I hope that’s okay with everyone?
Also, only TWO people have bought votes this time. Before even considering starting Vote-Off #8, I think we need to discuss how to make this work better. Or other ways to raise money to cover the site’s running costs.

What do we do about Vote-Off #8?
#7 was essentially a flop in terms of voting. Lots of people visited the pages but no-one wanted to buy votes.

Perhaps we need different people taking part?
Would Vote Off #8 be back to pictures rather than a video?
I know that outdoor nudity is illegal in many countries – but is an (other) outdoor theme possible? I’m happy to give it ago, but I’m lucky enough to have plenty of non-urban outdoors that’s easy to get to.
But that still leaves the problem of getting people to vote – particularly the non-participants.
Could we have a series of votes and the “winner” of each has to take a picture or short video to meet a pre-defined “dare”?-
We decided a while back that mandatory outdoor Vote-Offs would be too limiting as so many people would not be able to take part. There were three people who told me there were going to take part but then didn’t. Maybe one or more of them will take part in #8. There are also a few Vote-Off “regulars” who might come back if anyone can contact them?
I think different people might help, but also MORE people. More competition should drive more voting. Participants are supposed to by some votes themselves, but when we have the absolute minimum number of participants I can’t kick people out for not buying votes.
Ultimately, we need more members in general, but I just can’t seem to get momentum going.
