Inspiration for a new Vote-Off?

Could we skip the “getting naked” pictures and have various nude poses instead.

1. Inital standing and clothed
2. Standing facing camera covering genitals
3. On hands and knees facing camera
4. On hands and knees legs together facing away from camera
5. Sitting on floor, legs apart, knees raised hands covering genitals
6. Sitting on floor, legs apart, kness raised fully exposed
7. Genital close up  (same position as 6)

@gary I think this is an excellent idea.  Get nude quicker…I loved the “facing away from the camera, legs together” suggestion.

I may well be up for this, only one photo fully clothed, the rest nude but all my clothes scattered around me.

I’ve always been intrigued by the naked police mugshot idea. Against a plain wall, 4 shots front back and 2 side, holding something obviously not too identifying across the chest.

I guess the obvious choice for something to hold up would be the name of this community and your screen name here.

Maybe it could begin with the card held over the more embarrassing area but moved later in the sequence?

I may well be?  Like 1980, I’m trying to lose weight…need to be a bit more body-confident.  But getting nude quicker (after 1 round!) sounds good!  It’ll be a month or two away…by then I might have shifted a couple of pounds.  I’ll take some test shots but I may well be up for this?

Who would be interested in participating in a sudden-loss vote-off with an undressing video for the winner?

I hadn’t thought about a minimum length. I suppose it depends on the exact content requirement. But if we assume about 30-60 seconds to remove clothing and then at least 15(?) seconds each on front view and rear view?

Should we make a scene of this?

• Walk into view.
• Say “Hi” and give your name(?)
• Steadily remove all clothing.
• Give viewers a short time to see your front naked.
• Turn your back to the camera.
• Give a short time to view your back naked.
• Face the camera again and wave goodbye

I would imagine that would take 1-2 minutes for the whole video.

Should the video include anything else?

Nothing to add, along the lines of what I was expecting so happy with that – although @TakeAllMyClothes obviously wants longer videos.  I’m not going to disagree with him.

Perhaps include the length of the video and a still from the video for us to vote for.  The longer and more daring videos might attract more votes…

I’d like longer videos too. But that’s either going to mean awkward pauses OR more things to do in the video. I’d prefer the latter.

Also, I know participants from the US tend to be very wary of doing anything outdoors for legal reasons.

Star Jumps? Push/Press Ups?

Go for a short walk away from the camera (space permitting).

Read a short story (not sure what would be appropriate or relevant but I can only think of childrens stories being a sensible size).

I’m not sure about the reading a story idea, lol, but I like the walking away from the camera idea, maybe finishing by walking right up to the camera to end the video?

Could lead to some “interesting” angles but I suppose it could replace the final “close up” picture 😉

Obviously, each to his own, but I should point out that quite a few previous participants in Vote-Offs have been heavier than they would prefer.

Would it be fair to set a minimum resolution of 720p (1280×720 pixels) but with FullHD preferred?

Works for me.  Just thinking of your storage space for a 10min Full HD video 😀

I think a 10-minute video would be way too long, unless we can think of a few other activities to include in the video?

A four-minute video should be less than 200MB with MP4 (H.264) or similar compression.

If it’s just one video, storage isn’t too much of a problem, bandwidth is more of an issue, but I think we’ll be okay. We’re usually well within the monthly allocation.

They vary. We usually discuss the outcome before I start the Vote-Off.

For the video one, I’m thinking just a single winner as I suspect that will increase the competition. The unfortunate side-effect is that only one person will see the other participants’ videos.

Would it be okay to hold onto videos of those who don’t win, and put them in future vote offs? That could really help with numbers.

That creates an interesting possibility. You could do four (or more videos) where you do a different thing in each and members get to vote on which they most want to see.

But the videos would have to be of interest to other members to attract the votes.  I’d certainly be happy to do 4 striping videos in different places.

I think in previous vote offs you’ve said those taking part largely vote for themselves.  If it’s just a single person then an alternative might be to have a threshhold and after an agreed number of rounds, all those videos with more votes than the threshhold are published.

I gues you could do the same for the planned video vote off anyway e.g. 14 days and any videos getting more than 50 votes are published.

You’re right. With 5 participants, we don’t get more than 7 voters. Of course, that would be much better if we would get some of our female members to take part.

With the different videos from one person, I was thinking along the lines of videos like these:

• Strip and do some exercises.
• Strip and go for a walk outdoors.
• Strip and dance naked – or maybe strip while dancing?
• Strip and show yourself off to the camera.

Then the voters get to choose what you do.

I vote threshold is an interesting idea. I’ll have a think about that.

Last time I did any exercises, I still owned a Ford Cortina Mk IV.

Outside nude is near impossible for most people surely?

Striptease/dancing…a possibility. As I said, 1-2 minutes to strip nude seems a bit clinical? Where’s the tease?

Just some quick thoughts for videos –

• Stripping indoors at home
• Stripping out doors but very secluded (in the woods alone, etc.)
• Stripping in a changing room but not visible to others (gym, store changing room, etc.)
• Stripping somewhere unusual like inside your vehicle
• Stripping outdoors but in a wide open space. (beach, clearing, etc.)
• Stripping in a very risky spot (parking deck, parking lot, etc.)

They are good ideas, although my gym has a communal changing room so I can’t really do that.

The “Wide open space” and “Very risky” locations are a challenge that will need some planning ahead.

I think we’re looking more for length of video rather than how daring it is?

 

With this being the first video one, I’d prefer to keep it simple, and try not to put potential participants off by making it trickier. But I do agree that something like 3-4 mins would be better than a 45 second video.

To fill out the video, could we use the “Strip-Walk-Strip” idea, so tat rather than just stripping on the spot, each item of clothing has to be placed next to the camera so the person has to walk back and forth.  Then. optionally, walk as far away from the camera as you feel comfortable, then return to end the video.

Would anyone like to experiment with a video like that? It would be good to do a tech test on the whole concept before I commit to starting the next vote-off.

Everyone will need to discuss whether the actual vote-off will be indoor/outdoor/something else.

Looks like we have three possibles for the next vote-off. I think we’ve thrashed out a suitable format for the video. I’d recommend that everyone who’s interested in taking part should try making a test video to see how it comes out, find any problems and (if you want) send to me, so I can work out logistics etc.

Given this is a new format of vote-off, I think I’d be happy to open with just 3 participants, although it would be great to get six. Voting would be open for a week, so it would be good if we can be ready to launch on 25th March. How does that sound?

Did you havea chance to consider whether all videos above a minimum number of votes would be published?  I have no idea what this threshold might be.

I’m more inclined to have a single “winner” and then do another one with those who didn’t win and anyone else who wants to join in.

We could do a combination. In this Vote-Off (#6) there’s only one winner but everyone else keeps their votes into the next Vote-Off. More people can join (and hopefully will) but those who allow me to put their video into #7 still start with a (probably small) vote advantage. And so on into #8, #9 etc. Therefore, if you don’t win, you are more likely to win a future one.

 

Would that work? It also has the advantage that non-winning votes aren’t just thrown away at the end of the Vote-Off.
