I also had a really cool and unique experience in November at a wild beach. I was totally nude and could not see or hear any people or anything manmade in any direction. I removed absolutely everything, including shoes, glasses and ring, hid them out of my view, and just sat there in and part of nature, seeing nothing but the rook, the sand, the sea and sky, hearing the breeze and the waves. I’m not a spiritual person, but it felt transcendental.

I’ve done very short walks without shoes just to get a feel for it. I do think it enhances the feeling of being totally bare, as does removing hat, glasses, and my wedding ring. But in most conditions it’s neither comfortable nor practical. I would count any situation where you’re not wearing anything on the main areas of your upper or lower body as nude.
On the other hand, taking shoes and hats off for photos looks better. I first tried this timed photo on a hike with shoes and it looked silly. So I redid it without shoes. While I was setting up for the second shot, a group of four hikers in their early twenties came by. I quickly covered up, but they knew what was going on. I apologized and stayed covered to let them pass. They said it’s ok. I did ask the male member of the group if he’d like to help me get the shot, but he declined. So I waited and set it up again.

I just took a week’s solo vacation in Cyprus. The weather’s still warm there, in early November. Partially inspired by this topic, I spent most of the mornings and evenings in my Airbnbs and hotel rooms nude with the blinds open. They had nice balconies too. I wasn’t entirely inconsiderate: with one balcony that was particularly exposed, I put up a towel so the neighbouring hotel wouldn’t have to see.
I considered walking the halls, but one hotel had several obvious cameras so I didn’t risk it. But a different, older hotel did not have any visible cameras. So when I woke up in the middle of the night, I walked slowly all the way to one end of the hall, and then all the way to the other end. Such fun.

Not entirely unexpected as I was nude in a public place, but I didn’t expect this to happen.
December 2022 we had some unseasonably warm weather, and the wife was away. (She knows about this, but she’s not a fan of beaches in general, and I am.) I looked into the options for nude beaches here. There’s nothing official, but a few unofficial spots according to the internet. So one weekend I took a couple buses, walked from the highway stop down to the paid “normal” beach. Following tips from the internet, I turned right after entering the paid area, and made my way down to a remote stretch of sand away from the textiled people.
There was nobody else around. I don’t know if this spot just isn’t popular anymore, or if it would be more crowded in the summer. Maybe people weren’t as impressed by the weather forcast as I was. Both air and water were around 22 degrees and it was partly cloudy. So I got nude, took some photos of myself, enjoyed the water a bit and relaxed. As I was swimming, a group of maybe thirty people in kayaks paddled past in the near distance. They were maybe fifty metres away from me. As I was in the water, they wouldn’t have noticed anything unusual, and I didn’t think anything of it.
Eventually I got a little bored so I shoved everything in my backpack and walked nude along the shore for a while, away from the organized beach. Swimming and hiking in the open air in the nude was a fairly new and wonderful experience for me. I slowly made my way back to where I had been swimming earlier, dropped my bag and went for another swim. As I was swimming, I heard a buzz and saw a small drone flying towards me. It got pretty close and seemed to be checking me out, so I stood up, smiled and waved. It flew away.
A short while later I saw the kayaking group coming back towards me from the other side. I figured they would just go past as they did before, so I didn’t think anything of it, and kept swimming. Then the kayaks started to get closer and closer, and that’s when I heard the tour leader say something like, “let’s land here and look at some things.” And soon enough the whole group was landing right beside me, getting out onto the beach right beside me and right beside my bag. I didn’t know how long they intended to stick around, and it was getting close to the time I had to get out of there in order to make the last bus home.
So I said, “fuck it,” and marched out of the water, bare-ass naked to get to my towel. I’m sure I got a lot of stares from the children and women and some of the men, but I didn’t care. The leader of the group tried to engage me a bit, saying things like, “thanks a lot, dude,” and, “well done.” But I didn’t respond. I dried off, wrapped myself in the towel, and walked away.
I got to a place where there was a sort of bend beyond which it seemed the textiled section of the beach started, so I figured I better get dressed so as not to offend anyone. As I was getting dressed, this woman comes around the bend in full black burqa, head to toe. She sees me and promptly turns around and goes back the other way. So I either made her day or ruined her day.
Such good fun.

Before we visited Georgia, we learned of this hidden place in the mountains. Just a short drive or hike from the popular Kazbegi town centre, there’s an outdoor rectangular pool that’s continually filled with clean, naturally bubbly mineral water.
It was a warm day and the water was cold and refreshing. I convinced my travel buddy to go for a dip, which we suited up for. But something about the view inspired me to grab a cheeky shot before getting dressed.
Our Georgian driver thought I was crazy, but he was thoroughly amused and didn’t stop talking about it the rest of the day. I don’t know if the Russian couple camping there noticed or cared, but other than them we had the place to ourselves.

Thanks, Ed. I’m still figuring out tumblr, so I might be using it wrong or whatever. But from what I can tell so far they (currently) have a very liberal attitude to nudity.

This was at Cape Greco. I didn’t swim nude there because there were too many textiled people around and nobody else swimming nude. So instead I found a quiet spot to sunbathe nude after swimming.
But I did find several nude places to swim in Cyprus:
- Turtle Beach (the one near Konnos Beach in the east of the island) where there was a very friendly young male-female German couple, topless with their nude toddler, and I also saw sea turtles
- Landou Beach near Ammos Kambouri Beach where there was nobody else swimming in my spot, but a few other nude men in a different spot
- Governor’s Beach where there were a few other nude men here and there
- Pissouri Beach where there were a bunch of nude people on the nudist end of the beach, mostly gay men but also some nude heterosexual couples and a woman in her fifties who was getting it on with at least two other men
