Looks like the plugin that handles message attachments isn’t compatible with the latest version of the engine. Might be time to start looking for a replacement.

How do you mean, “can’t see what I’m typing”?

As Prof Green sported, I type…. and nothing appears on sceeen. So I have to be able to type correctly otherwise I could be typing trash.

And remember where I am as I literally see no words appearsimg as I type.

I do get two words underlined in red dit’s. Which suggests I have spelling mis tools in them!

Well, here’s a reply

but when I typed the words “Well, here’s a reply” I couldn’t see what I was typing. I’m now editing my response to add this text and I can now see what I’m typing. Well spotted @martin — I thought the reply button wasn’t working but in fact it was the text entry box that wasn’t displaying what I was typing.

This discussion is lacking nudity, so hopefully here (via a link) is a naked person successfully replying to a message on this thread…

I’m just going to have to recommend not using the “Reply” button for a while. I’ve checked the CSS, the theme and a couple of other things, but nothing I’ve found affects the reply box colour scheme. Even changing it directly in the browser doesn’t work, which is mad!

I’ll keep working on it.

I’m just going to try pasting this text into the reply to see if that works. Then at least if I have a deperate need to reply to something, I won’t end up running around the garden naked instead.

Yes, that worked so I could see what I was typing into a text editor and just had to assume I’d then copied and pasted it correctly.

The neighbours are relieved.

I can now see the text what I am typing, although in its in a San Serif font, so any mistooks is my own!!! 😉

I now think it’s typing white text on a white background. If I use the mouse to highlight what I’ve just typed (before saving it), I can see it.

Are we all using the same web browser? I’m using Chrome and I’m not really getting the problem. I saw it once then it returned to normal for me.

It says I’m using Firefox 79.0 on Linux but trying a different one is a good idea, at least to help pin down the problem.

Just discovered that the polls don’t work either (I can’t create new ones). I’m going to have to strip the site down and build it back up one plugin at a time. I won’t do that now, and I haven’t got time tomorrow. Maybe later in the day?

I’ll post an announcement first as a great deal of functionality will temporarily disappear.
