Public experiments?

You mentioned somewhere that there are 2 types of experiments:
public and free

or

private and paid.

I’ve read the reports of the 3 private experiments.
Am I missing some “public” ones?

There was talk of finding quiet spots and doing them outdoors, which of course would mean no room hire costs, but bigger risk of being seen.

That would have pushed me, I’m not sure if I would have been brave enough for that.

The discussion was about the time when Ed was struggling to get numbers, particularly female, so I guess that’s why it hasn’t happened yet.

There are TWO key types of experiments:

• PUBLIC and FREE
  • No charge for taking part.
  • Videos and photos of the experiment session will be published online.
• PRIVATE and PAID
  • Flat charge of £60 per person to take part (covers venue, insurance & other costs).
  • Videos and photos of the session will NEVER be published anywhere.

I’ve only read of the 3 but I guess even if more had taken place without photos it wouldn’t make sense to do the write up anyway.

I have asked a couple of times of enough people would do it regardless of gender equality or if it was all male if it was a paid option as an all male one would never sell.
still up for that if others are. Do we think we could get 4 or more people to sign up to pay the £60 to take part. And would anyone be interested in reading the write up of an all male experiment.

 

there was a lot of talk about having to change some of the consent form and maybe figuring out limits of an all same gender experiment. Is it time to start a poll for who would be up for it from here?

Looks like 4 & 5 might have happened but the description of them both shows not available yet.

There have been five experiment sessions so far. Three are written up and available. The 4th one was a mess and went badly wrong (and it’s not interesting – some participants quit near the start and it fell apart). I haven’t written that one up as I can’t realistically charge for it. Also it would do nothing to promote more participation.

Experiment 5 was a group of people who all knew each other and took part on condition no report was published. I’ve tried to persuade them but not got clearance (yet?).

Since then we’ve had about 5-6 which looked like they would happen but fizzled out before starting. I’m in talks with two other groups, so I’m hopeful one of those might actually take place this year.

There have never been any public experiments. Back when I set up the experiment idea, I was hopeful that they would become a regular thing but they’re not going to happen, are they?

I don’t know about public experiments, but if we could get 1 or 2 ladies, some sort of public event might be possible, though shoes may be necessary.

I like the old suggestion where you work in pairs to find the combination to the box with your clothes in. Could even do it the old 3 legged style going back to primary school sports day. Losers get driven back to their cars naked and have to dress in the car park.

I’m back in work this week, so slightly less active, but I’ve tried to get the forum moving again, be good if we can keep this momentum.

Sorry, I meant public (published in video/photos) as opposed to private (only published as a report).

I have detailed plans for outdoor sections for future experiments, but no plans to do a whole experiment in a public place. That would be fraught with issues. It would also limit experiments to 6 (the maximum number of passengers in my car). Whilst public nudity is legal here, it doesn’t guarantee a positive response (eg angry locals, rowdy teenagers, an old lady phoning the police, etc.) so a “getaway” vehicle would be a necessity for security.

Websites that do public nudity always have a car nearby with a driver waiting to get them out of there. It’s not much fun being naked with a bunch of drunk blokes teasing you.
