A few minutes ago, a person who wishes to remain anonymous, private messaged me with a suggestion. I’m trying to work out if it would work.
The idea is to have two copies of the Master Dare List results table. One without links to photos/video, in the public area (where it is now) and a second version in the Community Supporters area with the links.
It would serve as an incentive to become a supporter AND if the published results weren’t so totally public, it might encourage more people to take part. What do you think?

For me no interest, the buzz is the actual doing it, not being on the internet.

Don’t worry. It wouldn’t make any difference to you. If you don’t give permission to publish, the photos don’t get published at all, in either area of the site.

The idea was a way to make being a community supporter even more attractive. Does that work?

Dumb question, but is the lack of automated discreet payment a barrier to anyone else joining supporter hub?
Patreon seems to be quite happy to support adult content related creators. They even have links to wordpress sites that callw you to hide unhide posts based on patreon membership. Bank statement shows as paying patreon not the creator so looks a bit more discreet on the bank statement.
Photos and videos for me are not the biggest draw to the site. It’s about the thought and the descriptions of the experiences more for me if stuff goes behind a paywall I’m not too fussed. Would be nice to have an automated way to pay to get behind the paywall though. Having said the pictures and videos are not the main reason for being here well they make the time go by. I also think seeing others do something gives that kind of mentality that it can be done by other normal people. I wonder if the paywall will hinder that.
Would an automated payment method make membership more accessible to more people without having to move lots of content behind a paywall?

It would but I’ve never found a reliable one. Most want to vet content in advance and that obviously doesn’t work for this community. Many others take a huge cut. I’ll have to recheck Patreon but when I checked a couple of years ago, adult content was expressly forbidden.
Most systems I’ve tried over the years have either folded, cancelled my account or been taken over by someone who doesn’t allow adult content. I can’t say for this site, but every purchase I’ve ever done on Paypal (which hasn’t been many) has just shown up as “Paypal payment” on my bank statement.

I’ve just been looking at Patreon’s T&C’s. They do now support adult content (which surprised me) but I would need every single person appearing to sign a consent form and provide me with:
A driver’s license OR
country-issued passport OR
social security or tax card with birthdate on it OR
a state-issued identity card.I think that would put everyone off?

Also, I don’t currently store anything much in the way of personal information. For most people I’ve got nothing at all. If I need to start storing copies of IDs etc. and consent forms that’s going to land me in the nebulous area of GDPR. I don’t want to go there, TBH.

Isn’t that id requirement only if you post the content on the patreon site though? I didn’t think it mattered what you did off-site only on patreon itself?
What does securing Consent Documentation entail?
This requirement involves documenting the consent of participants to participate in Adult/18+ content, and to that content being on Patreon. To save creators the step of hiring legal assistance or drafting a legal document themselves, we’ve developed a template (in multiple languages) that creators can use or refer to if they choose

Am I allowed to charge ON Patreon for something that ISN’T on Patreon?
That sounds dodgy to me. I don’t want the community to start looking like a scam.

I guess I could set up a subscription model on Patreon and then attempt to keep a synchronised list of Community Supporters. I’m not sure how viable that would be as names on Patreon and usernames on NE would need to be associated somehow.
I already have a complication in that most Community Supporters use a different e-mail address on PayPal to the one they use in this community.

I subscribe to a couple of things on patreon. They basically don’t supply anything on patreon and use it purely as a membership payment
You can link patreon to your WordPress site and lock down areas or topics based on the patreon subscription level.
Was just a a thought.

How do you link Patreon to WordPress? I didn’t know that was even a thing.Apparently there’s a WordPress plugin for Patreon. I’ve got a Patreon account (unrelated to this community), which I’ve had for a very long time, and they’ve never mentioned a WordPress plugin to me.
I’m doing some research now.

The site is basically committed now. I hope this is the right decision…?
