A few days of quiet time so figured I’d ask a question I haven’t see here before. I might have just missed it. When walking do you count shoes as cheating when it comes to being naked. I think naked is naked head to toe. I have sore feet some times when i walk as i often walk on forest or wood paths that regularly turn to gravel or have sticks and stones on them. Sometime I think I should really be wearing trainers to protect my feet but it always feels like a cheat.

I think naturists usually would wear shoes if walking outdoors.
The BN event I went to (a charity walk in a nature reserve) was “clothing optional” so clothing or no clothing would have been acceptable. But I’m sure shoes were mandatory. And personally I would wear shoes even indoors if there’s any possibility that somebody might have broken a glass at some time in the past.
As for counting shoes, the answer usually is two 🙂

I decided to check, and sure enough at https://www.nakedheartwalk.org.uk/ it says:
- Do I have to take my clothes off?
If you are new to naturism then this is the perfect incentive to give it a go, and for a good cause. We accept some people may prefer to wear clothes; if that’s you then bring a bag as you may change your mind half way around when you see the others enjoying all that naturism brings.
- What happens if it is raining?
We get wet! Normal naturist protocol applies and if it turns cold then you put on a mac. The event will still go ahead and the weather won’t dampen the fun.
- What else should I bring? Proper walking boots or sturdy shoes are a must (except Morecambe Bay where sandals or bare feet are better on sand). Likewise, consider a hat or sun cream if it’s hot and bring some water.

@shynudedude83I actually think a naked woman who is wearing only one piece of clothing like that is a very attractive site. The weird thing I feel like if I was completely naked and the other person was wearing shoes I would feel somewhat self-conscious over the fact that they are more dressed than I was! But in general if a person is wearing shoes if everything else is visible that normally wouldn’t be if they were wearing clothing I consider that pretty much naked. Just like glasses because even if you’re a nudist if you can’t see without your glasses it’s just not practical.

Some interesting takes. I never know if people would think me a cheat if did a video walking in trainers or not. Sounds like no it wouldn’t be considered cheating here for the most part. I still need to work out in my head if I think it would be cheating. I like that totally naked feeling but having nice feeling feet at the end of the walk would be nice.

I still think I prefer bare feet. Tried again this morning to do a short walk but I ended up barefoot and very muddy again. I’m generally careful about how and where I walk to prevent walking in long grass or on sharp stones etc.. I know you can be 100% certain but it hasn’t been too bad so far.
I guess it’s time to do another longer walk and test the difference between shoes and no shoes. Just need to wake up early next weekend and head out further again to get it done.

I guess the thing is for me it’s not about what would get me in trouble but what feels naked. I’m sure the police wouldn’t really count shoes as still being covered but in my head I still question am I naked.
I’ve cut short a few walks in the past either cause feet start to hurt or my feet get cold aand that cold travels from feet to body quite quickly. Not having to cut walls short for those reasons would be good.
Shoes would also make running for safety much easier but again it kind of feels like a cheat. It’s like you can give up and get back to safety. Without them you are basically having to tell yourself you are likely to be exposed of you get caught so love with it. Like it changed your mindset.
I definitely need to try both on the same walk..I’ll feedback next weekend if I’ve changed my mind or not.

I’ve done very short walks without shoes just to get a feel for it. I do think it enhances the feeling of being totally bare, as does removing hat, glasses, and my wedding ring. But in most conditions it’s neither comfortable nor practical. I would count any situation where you’re not wearing anything on the main areas of your upper or lower body as nude.
On the other hand, taking shoes and hats off for photos looks better. I first tried this timed photo on a hike with shoes and it looked silly. So I redid it without shoes. While I was setting up for the second shot, a group of four hikers in their early twenties came by. I quickly covered up, but they knew what was going on. I apologized and stayed covered to let them pass. They said it’s ok. I did ask the male member of the group if he’d like to help me get the shot, but he declined. So I waited and set it up again.

I also had a really cool and unique experience in November at a wild beach. I was totally nude and could not see or hear any people or anything manmade in any direction. I removed absolutely everything, including shoes, glasses and ring, hid them out of my view, and just sat there in and part of nature, seeing nothing but the rook, the sand, the sea and sky, hearing the breeze and the waves. I’m not a spiritual person, but it felt transcendental.
Pictured: the private beach where I did this, sitting/laying out on that smooth white rock.
